Design Engineer - Suspension x3

Our Automotive & Motorsport Consultancy Client is seeking multiple Design Engineers to join the close dynamic Suspension team located at their facility in Thetford, Norfolk.

Our client is an automotive engineering company, that design and manufacture dampers for race and road cars, build low volume cars and chassis’, provide ride and handling tuning programs, and manufacture mechatronic systems such as adjustable ride height systems and deployable wing mechanisms.

As the Design engineer, you will be involved in the concept and development of suspension systems, ranging from packaging and structural requirements to the detail design, modelling and drafting of precision components.

The role requires utilising first principles engineering, creating CAD models, organising CAE & physical testing, hands-on building & testing of prototypes, and ensuring component validation is achieved, while regularly interfacing directly with global customers, suppliers and the on-site manufacturing team.

Design Engineers are expected to innovate and drive continuous improvement throughout the business whilst ensuring their engineering services are delivered on-time and to our customer quality and internal performance standards.

You will be given the opportunity to work on High-End Motorsport, OEM /Road Car & Full Vehicle Projects, being involved in the full life-cycle.

This is a fast-paced working environment, with no two days being the same. One day could see you designing from a blank piece of paper creating new and exciting ideas, the next being involved with the prototype of your design and the following week seeing your finished part being utilised out on the track in a Race competition.

Customers range from the most successful Formula One, Prototype & Sports Car teams, to the highest volume global automotive OEMs, and everything in between. In addition to development and supply of suspension components & complex mechanisms.

At the facility in Thetford, Design Engineers are located in the same building as the CAE team, component test & validation equipment, a world-class machine shop, metrology, and assembly facilities, allowing for rapid development in a highly collaborative environment.

We are looking to for self-motivated Design Engineers with a true passion for engineering and an aptitude for problem solving.

You must be degree educated, holding at least 2 years +’ experience in a similar position in either Automotive or Motorsport with a passionate and positive attitude.

Knowledge of suspension design and optimisation would be a distinct advantage as would an understanding of hydraulic systems design; however any component area will be considered.
